James Michael House with bass guitar

Record high-quality electric guitar, acoustic guitar, or electric bass tracks for your music with top-notch modern and vintage equipment, an experienced audio engineer, and a professional recording studio session that you can attend virtually if desired.

You are not just hiring someone to record a track remotely at home. You are booking a remote studio session with a seasoned musician, producer-artist, and engineer in a private 2500 sq ft professional studio with acoustically treated live and amp rooms, high-end instruments, quality amps, microphones, preamps, DI options, and Pro Tools Studio sessions captured up to 24-bit / 96 kHz.

Guitar Sessions

With over 30 years of experience playing electric and acoustic guitar, I can provide rhythm parts, lead lines, riffs, hooks, solos, atmospheric layers, acoustic strumming, funk textures, heavy rock parts, blues lines, jazz-influenced color, and more. My playing is influenced by artists such as Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, Frank Zappa, Django Reinhardt, Dave Mustaine, Steve Vai, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Joe Satriani, Brian May, John McLaughlin, Randy Rhoads, and Dimebag Darrell Abbott.

I can record a clean, song-serving part or something more adventurous: experimental metal-funk guitar, odd-time grooves, inventive riffs, bold tones, tight funk parts, heavy avant-rock textures, or lead work with personality. DI sessions using premium amp modeling are available for efficient remote work, and custom sessions can include miked amps, vintage microphones, acoustic guitar, or more specific tone design.

Bass Sessions

Bass guitar follows closely in experience and talent. I often play six-string bass and can record fretted or fretless parts. My bassist skills cover two-finger playing, pick work, slap and pop, two-hand tapping, melodic progressive bass lines, tight pocket playing, and expressive parts that can either support the groove or step forward as a featured voice.

Influences include Flea, Les Claypool, Victor Wooten, Jaco Pastorius, Bootsy Collins, Steve Harris, Cliff Burton, Stanley Clarke, Geddy Lee, Norwood Fisher, John Paul Jones, Paul Jackson, Stu Hamm, Larry Graham, and James Jamerson. The result can be funky, progressive, driving, melodic, percussive, subtle, or wild depending on what the song needs.

What You Receive

How the Process Works

Start by sending a digital file of the song you want guitar or bass added to. Include any notes about style, tone, arrangement, references, or creative direction. Charts or sheet music are welcome, but I can also work by ear.

After reviewing the material, we can discuss the direction by video call from the studio. For custom sessions, I can return a brief sample recording based on the discussion. Once the direction is approved, I record and deliver the final track. Rush timing may be possible depending on the schedule.
